A Chinese company is developing selfie nano drones to capture pictures that would be impossible for a selfie stick.
The company, Elecfreaks, raised $8,000 in one day after launching an Indiegogo campaign March 12. It needs $20,000 to bring its drone to the market.
“The ELF is your nanocopter that fits into your pocket and high-definition aerial photo robot that anyone can capture videos and photos from the sky. ELF features both cutting-edge technologies and fully hackable platform, all specifically designed for ease, joyful and affordable piloting experience,” the company says on its website.
YouTube videos uploaded by Elecfreaks show the product in use, which can be controlled with a smartphone.
The technology website Venture Beat reported Friday that Elecfreaks joins a number of other companies that are vying to corner the selfie drone market. Others products include Zano and Nixie, which were seen at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
