ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) - Police have arrested 30 people and confiscated more than $500,000 in cash and illegal drugs following a weeks-long investigation into a suspected family-run cocaine ring in northeast Ohio.

Police in Elyria say the group of 30 suspects consists primarily of members from three different families who investigators say worked together to bring cocaine from neighboring Cuyahoga County and sell it in Lorain County.

Police announced Wednesday that the arrests were made following raids of more than a dozen homes last week and Monday. Investigators seized nearly $400,000 worth of cocaine as well as handguns, vehicles, other drugs and cash throughout the investigation.

Those arrested are from Cleveland, Elyria, Sheffield Lake and Lorain. They’re being held in the Lorain County jail and face a variety of drug-related charges.
