SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - The New Mexico Senate has confirmed another of Gov. Susana Martinez’s Cabinet appointments.
The Senate on Wednesday unanimously confirmed the appointment of former federal prosecutor Gregory Fouratt as head of the Department of Public Safety.
Martinez began overseeing the department in March 2014.
He’s a former U.S. attorney for New Mexico. While a federal prosecutor, Fouratt handled a wide range of cases that included racketeering, violent crimes and drugs and weapons offenses.
