BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - It took the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board 45 minutes before it unanimously named Warren Drake as the lone finalist for superintendent.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1x3CqpJ ) Drake is very likely the next leader of the second-largest school district in Louisiana.

The newspaper reports the board Wednesday night asked Drake to return March 26 to interview before the board. The board plans to meet once more, on April 2, to make its official selection.

If he takes the job, Drake would replace Bernard Taylor, whose three-year contract expires June 30.

The 63-year-old Drake left Zachary school system in 2012 to become an administrator with the Louisiana Department of Education.
