BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Wisconsin man accused of bringing women to North Dakota’s oil patch and forcing them into prostitution has been sentenced to 21 months in prison.
The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1xhFlve ) reports a U.S. District Court judge in Bismarck also sentenced Levell Durr of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to five years of supervised probation on Wednesday.
Investigators alleged that Durr had been trafficking women since at least last April, when police in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, reported that a woman told them Durr was holding three females against their will.
Durr pleaded guilty in October to a charge of coercion and enticement. He admitted to convincing women to come to North Dakota and to placing ads for their services, though he said he did not force the women.
Durr was arrested in Bismarck in June. He had been living in Minot.
