WASHINGTON (AP) - The federal government is delaying the opening of offices in the Washington region, where icy roads and sidewalks are creating a slippery morning commute.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management says the government is open Monday, but employees can arrive up to two hours late. Employees also have the option to telework or take unscheduled leave after a storm brought snow, sleet, ice and freezing rain to the region on Sunday.

The agency sets leave policies for 300,000 federal workers.
