LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas-based pro football sports betting contest is aiming to expand its reach much like the World Series of Poker did by offering free satellite tournaments.

The sports book at Westgate Las Vegas announced Monday it has partnered with mobile app developer Gamblino to offer free entries in The SuperContest to the winners of the app’s four satellite tournaments.

Gamblino’s founder Frank Wilson says his app and entry into the online sports betting tournaments for college basketball, professional basketball, baseball and hockey, is free and available to anyone in the United States.

It usually costs $1,500 to enter the annual contest that tests the sports handicapping skills of professional football watchers.

The contest’s 2014 winner - a team of four men calling themselves CH Ballers - took home $736,675.
