ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) - Howard County Police have charged a woman with driving under the influence after her car sideswiped a patrol car in Ellicott City.

It happened about 12:30 a.m. Saturday on Old Columbia Pike. Police say Officer First Class Nicholas Ventura was conducting a field sobriety test on the shoulder.

Authorities say a car driven by 25-year-old Sarah Nicole Curtain of Baltimore veered off the road and sideswiped Ventura’s car, pushing it about 2 feet forward. Ventura was not in the patrol vehicle and was not injured.

Curtain was charged with driving while intoxicated and several traffic violations.
