LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - U.S. Sens. John Boozman and Tom Cotton and U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford have announced rural development grants for Cleburne and Jackson counties.
The Republican lawmakers announced Friday that Mountain Top Public Water Authority in Heber Springs will receive a grant for $114,000 and a $243,000 loan to extend water service to new users. They said Campbell Station will get a $5,000 grant to begin correcting problems with its wastewater lift station and pumps.
The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.
Crawford says reliable water infrastructure is a basic requirement for a working community.
