Lawsuit settled in death of crab fisherman off Oregon coast

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A lawsuit filed in the death of a man who drowned when a fishing vessel sank nearly three years ago has been settled.

The Oregonian newspaper reports (https://is.gd/78Aggm ) the estate of David Terris sued the owner of the commercial fishing boat and the Swedish maker of a life-raft release mechanism. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

Terris was a member of the Sound Leader, a crab-fishing boat that sank in rough waters near Newport, Oregon, in July 2012.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued the other three members of the crew.
