PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police are investigating a Saturday night street shooting that wounded a 16-year-old girl.
Police said Sunday the girl was grazed by a bullet as she sat in a car at Cypress and Camp Streets around 11 p.m.
Police were called and met the car a few blocks away at Morris and Olney Streets. The girl was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators aren’t sure whether she was deliberately targeted.
The shooting occurred outside the Black and White Market convenience store. Police said shots also were fired inside the store but no one was hurt.
No one has been arrested and police say they don’t have any suspects.
