SAN SIMON, Ariz. (AP) - Eastbound and westbound rest areas on Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona just west of the New Mexico line will be closed for the next five months for renovations.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the San Simon rest areas will be closed starting Monday.

The work to be done will include improving water and septic systems and making the facilities current with standards for disability access.

In southwestern New Mexico, there are rest areas on I-10 near Lordsburg and between Lordsburg and Deming.

In southeastern Arizona, there are rest areas in Texas Canyon between Willcox and Benson.
