AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A state district judge from Travis County says she’s failed her own standards of conduct with her weekend arrest for driving while intoxicated.
Judge Gisela Triana was stopped for speeding early Saturday in Austin, then arrested for suspicion of drunken driving.
Her arrest warrant shows she failed a field sobriety test and that police found an empty bottle of hard lemonade in the console of her car.
Records show she gave a blood test and spent about eight hours in jail before her release after daybreak Saturday.
Triana has released a statement saying regardless of the outcome, the investigation itself shows she hasn’t met her own standards of careful conduct. She’s a former Austin municipal judge and assistant prosecutor and has handled civil cases as a state judge since 2005.
