COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs woman who wrote an open letter urging Brittany Maynard not to end her life has died of breast cancer.

The death of 38-year-old Kara Tippetts was announced on her blog “Mundane Faithfulness” on Sunday.

Tippetts was an author, a mother of four and the wife of Colorado Springs pastor Jason Tippetts.

She published a book on her battle with cancer just days before Maynard made headlines by announcing she had moved to Oregon to take advantage of the state’s law allowing physician-assisted suicide.

Tippetts’ letter to Maynard spread online. In October, Tippetts told The Gazette https://bit.ly/1CKoNNc ) of Colorado Springs that she wanted Maynard to “feel my love” and didn’t expect to become part of the national conversation over the right to die.
