KEELING, Va. (AP) - Pittsylvania County health officials say a raccoon found in Keeling has tested positive for rabies.,
The Danville-Pittsylvania County Health Department tells media outlets that the raccoon may have had contact with pets or livestock in the area.
The health department is asking residents to watch their pets for symptoms of rabies. Symptoms include a change in behavior, irritability, excitability, staggering or biting.
