ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - An August trial has been scheduled for an Astoria man accused of sexually abusing a girl over a five-year span.

The Daily Astorian reports (https://is.gd/1Xw8Sg ) that 45-year-old Michael Mitchell is charged with 30 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of tampering with a witness and one count of bribing a witness. Court documents say the alleged abuse occurred between 2007 and 2012.

The trial is set to start Aug. 11 and last three to five days.

Mitchell was arrested Sept. 24 after Astoria Police received a report from the Oregon Department of Human Services about a possible child sex abuse case.

Mitchell pleaded not guilty and he’s been out on bail.
