MILTON, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a man in a motorized wheelchair was hit by a pickup truck in Milton.
It happened about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Morris Avenue Extension and Broad Kill Road. Troopers say 71-year-old Joseph Seymour of Milton was riding his wheelchair east on the westbound shoulder bicycle lane.
Police say 52-year-old James Parker of Millsboro was driving a pickup truck on Morris Avenue Extension, and, after stopping at a stop sign, hit Seymour’s wheelchair.
Troopers say Seymour was knocked to the ground. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident is under investigation.
