ROME, N.Y. (AP) - A 47-year-old central New York man has been found guilty of second-degree murder for the fatal stabbing of his estranged wife.
Christopher Werenski of Rome was charged with killing 45-year-old Carrie Pritchard last July, three days after he was ordered to pay a $200 fine for violating an order of protection filed against him.
The Oneida Daily Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1EYA8Z7 ) reports that the Oneida County Court jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday morning after less than 40 minutes of deliberation. The trial began Monday.
Werenski faces up to 25 years to life in prison when he’s sentenced on May 26.
