MANTORVILLE, Minn. (AP) - A Dodge Center woman has pleaded guilty to criminal vehicular homicide in a crash in southeastern Minnesota that killed a passenger last summer.
Twenty-three-year-old Shyanne Marie Jensen pleaded guilty to the felony charge Wednesday in Dodge County court. In exchange for her plea, other charges, including fourth-degree DWI, open bottle and no insurance, are expected to be dismissed.
Jensen admitted she lost control of the car on July 8, went into a ditch and hit a tree. Eighteen-year-old Guy Carlson died in the crash. Jensen was airlifted to a Rochester hospital, where a blood sample was taken. Lab tests confirmed her blood-alcohol content was 0.197 percent, more than double Minnesota’s legal limit of 0.08 percent.
The Post-Bulletin (https://bit.ly/19nOzKP) reports sentencing is set for June 17.
