TITUSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Heavy snows have caused a roof to collapse at a plant that makes plastic water pipe in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Officials at Charter Plastics tell the Titusville Herald (https://bit.ly/1BQZN83 ) that the roof on a building that houses a carpenters’ shop about 3 p.m. Monday. The business is in Titusville, about 95 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Becky Sloan, the company’s office manager, says no employees were in the building when it collapsed.



The company will more fully assess the damage on Thursday. Although the cause isn’t officially known, company officials believe heavy snows caused the roof to fail.

Workers produce pallets and other wooden products in the shop, which are then used to ship the company’s plastic piping.
