CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Dear News Directors and General Managers:

It’s time for The Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters Awards Luncheon! This year’s event will be held Saturday, March 28, in Charlottesville, Va.

The annual luncheon and general membership meeting will be held from 12 to 3:30 p.m. at the Omni Hotel, 212 Ridge McIntire Road, Charlottesville, Va., 22903. We are offering a seminar this year at 10 a.m., prior to the luncheon, for college students: How to Get Your First Job in Journalism. Some of the topics will include what to put on your resume/reel, how to start your job search, and what news directors are looking for in new hires. The workshop covers both television and radio. There is no additional cost for the seminar, but seating is limited to the first 30 students who respond.



The 2015 Awards Luncheon is open to Virginia and West Virginia broadcasters, their spouses and friends, to professionals employed in associated fields and to college students.

Reservation fees are listed in the schedule below. The deadline to register is Friday, March 20, 2015. Please make checks payable to: Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters (VAPB). You can also use the PayPal feature on our website: www.ap.org/virginia. (A credit card fee of $2.50 will apply).
