CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Wildlife officials are reminding Wyomingites that shed horn and antler gathering is barred on public land west of the Continental Divide until the end of April.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1H3cCKS ) the rule is intended to minimize disturbance of big game animals on their winter and spring ranges when they are most vulnerable to stress. It also prevents animals from being displaced to less productive habitats.
Public land in the Great Divide Basin is excluded from the regulation, which has been in effect since 2009.
