FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Three men accused of breaking into the perimeter of a Fargo water tower have been arrested.

Fargo Police Lt. Mike Mitchell tells WDAY-TV (https://bit.ly/1EyB2JN ) police found the men leaving the secure fenced area around the water tower after an alarm went off. The men fled when they saw the officers.

Mitchell says two of men stopped and were taken into custody immediately, and the third man was arrested after fleeing toward his apartment.

Mitchell says the Fargo men told officers they broke into the water tower to “make some memories.” One of the men claims he climbed to the top of the tower before police showed up.

Twenty-year-old David Adrian, 19-year-old Gabriel Zempel and 21-year-old Austin Weigel were arrested on suspicion of trespassing. Weigel also faces a resisting arrest charge.

It wasn’t immediately clear Tuesday whether the men have legal representation.
