ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (AP) - A public art project composed of 20 ducks, frogs and whales and two big bathtubs is about to hit the streets of a southwestern Michigan city.

The “Splishin’ and Splashin’” display will be unveiled Friday evening in downtown St. Joseph. The Herald-Palladium (https://bit.ly/1RA9xII ) reports the large scale sculptures stand around 4 feet tall and are bulky in an effort to invite children to climb on them.

Residents participating in the public art display chose colorful themes for their aquatic-themed installations. Some of the titles include “Genie Duck,” ”Farmer Freddie Duck,” ”Frog Monet” and “Fairy Good Bubble Bath.”

At least one of the sculptures will be on display outside of St. Joseph. “Robber Ducky” will sit at the welcome center in neighboring New Buffalo.

The sculptures will be on display through Sept. 24.
