PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Attorney General’s Office has filed charges against a woman accused of faking cancer in order to get the state to pay for her late-term abortion in 2010.

State prosecutors allege 29-year-old Chalice Renee Zeitner told her obstetrician that she had cancer and her pregnancy put her life in further danger.

They say Zeitner presented information to the obstetrician that she was suffering from Stage 4 sarcoma and had tumors in her abdomen and lower spinal area.

Records show Zeitner had her pregnancy terminated at a Phoenix hospital in April 2010.

Prosecutors say information was later obtained that indicated Zietner falsified medical documents purporting that she had cancer.

Authorities say Zeitner was arrested last Friday in Columbia County, Georgia where she was living under a false name.
