CHADBOURN, N.C. (AP) - The Carolina Mudcats baseball team has gone to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after an early morning wreck sent several players to the hospital.

Multiple media outlets reported the bus carrying the minor league team it flipped on its side near Chadbourn shortly before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Emergency Services Director Kay Worley told WECT-TV (https://bit.ly/1ExNbP2) that eight players and a trainer were taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Everyone was released later Tuesday morning and the team proceeded to Myrtle Beach.

Tuesday’s game was postponed. A makeup date has not been determined.

The Mudcats are a Class-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The team had left Salem, Virginia, on Monday night.

Worley said 33 people were on the bus.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
