DOVER, Del. (AP) - Single-file only, please, at some Delaware beaches.

That’s the message handed down Tuesday from state parks officials, who are concerned about vehicle congestion on Delaware’s surf-fishing beaches.

Officials say the practice of “vehicle-stacking,” with rows of trucks and SUVs parked end to end, creates congestion and problems for officers enforcing park rules. That enforcement includes making sure vehicle occupants are actively engaged in surf fishing.

Officials note that the number of surf-fishing vehicle permits has risen 30 percent over the past five years, to about 15,000.
