LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - USA Track and Field has appointed Kentucky head coach Edrick Floreal to lead Team USA at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing, China, Aug. 22-30.

Floreal guided men’s jumps and combined events at the 2012 Olympics in London, when Team USA athletes won six medals, including two golds. Ashton Eaton and Trey Hardee captured gold and silver medals respectively in the men’s decathlon under Floreal.

The Wildcats have become a national power during Floreal’s two-plus years as coach with multiple school-record finishes in the Southeastern Conference and NCAA championships. Kentucky has earned 42 All-American honors, 18 SEC individual titles and two NCAA championships.
