ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police say a 25-year-old man tried to shoot officers with an assault rifle but was arrested after the gun malfunctioned.
KMOV-TV (https://bit.ly/1F4yKo8) reports that Antoine Lane is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and one count of resisting or interfering with arrest.
Police say two officers responding to a report Monday of a male firing shots found Lane with an assault rifle he pointed at them. Police say that when Lane tried to shoot but the gun didn’t work, he was arrested after a short foot chase.
The officers were unhurt.
Online court records don’t show whether Lane has an attorney.
