PHOENIX (AP) - Blasting to the side of Camelback Mountain as part of a construction project was put to a halt after homeowners in the area voiced concerns about the rolling rocks and boulders that were damaging their homes.

KSAZ-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1KFyo8R ) the City of Phoenix shut down the project Friday over safety concerns until developers can prove they can adequately protect the surrounding area.

Developers were blasting part of the mountain to make way for a new home.

Two homeowners who live below the construction site say their driveways have been damaged. Bedrock Developers says it will take responsibility and fix the damage that has been done.

The developer says explosions, although smaller are expected to last another month.
