NEW YORK (AP) - A man accused of slashing five people with scissors during a rampage on a popular Manhattan bike path has been sentenced to 23 years in prison.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office said Julius Graham was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to assault in the attacks that occurred in Riverside Park in 2013. He’ll also undergo 5 years of post-release supervision

The victims include a man and his toddler, who was in a stroller. Also injured were two joggers and a man walking his dog.

Authorities say the 44-year-old Texas native had been living in a Bronx homeless shelter. In court, his family apologized to victims and said Graham needed mental help.
