ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - Police say an autopsy has confirmed that a hotel developer and his wife were stabbed to death at their Rockville home.

Montgomery County police announced Tuesday that Richard and Julianne Vilardo died of “sharp force injuries.”

Police also revealed Tuesday that the Vilardos were in Charles Town, West Virginia, on Saturday night, where they dined with friends. The couple returned home that evening. That was the last time they were known to be alive. They were found dead by a relative on Sunday.

Police have not released any information about suspects or a possible motive. Police have said previously that someone entered the Vilardos’ home through a window. The window was not broken.

Richard Vilardo was 65 years old and Julianne Vilardo was 67.
