LIMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 27-year-old male pedestrian apparently was drinking before a train struck and killed him in Washtenaw County.

State police Sgt. Chris Pascoe tells The Ann Arbor News (https://bit.ly/1cPespB ) that the Lima Township man didn’t get up when the train approached about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The site is in Lima Township, about 10 miles west of Ann Arbor.

Pascoe says investigators believe that alcohol is involved in the death. The man’s name is being withheld until after authorities notify his relatives.
