KOPPEL, Pa. (AP) - A Russian steel pipe manufacturer has cut hours and workers at two Pennsylvania plants.
OAO TMK tells the Beaver County Times (https://bit.ly/1QFo6cT ) 115 people have been laid off at its Koppel and Ambridge plants since February. Some employees’ hours have been reduced.
The company expected about 75 temporary layoffs representing about a 10 percent reduction at the plants as oil and gas drilling have slowed.
The Moscow-based company says it wants to rehire laid off workers, but that it depends on global oil prices and credit restrictions.
