BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Zachary woman has pleaded guilty to stealing about $80,000 in Social Security benefits during a 14-year period by concealing the fact that she had remarried after she began receiving survivor’s benefits.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1Ph0LRw ) 63-year-old Ruby C. Dunn admitted in court Tuesday that she wrongfully received the benefits.

U.S. Attorney Walt Green, in a news release, says Dunn started receiving benefits in 1993, but remarried in 1999 and was no longer eligible to receive the benefits. Green says on numerous occasions she misrepresented her marital status to the Social Security Administration.

Dunn, who pleaded guilty to theft of government property, will be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick. A sentencing date was not set.
