SALEM, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say an investigation and autopsy show an inmate serving a 90-day sentence for driving under the influence used a bedsheet to hang himself in his Marion County Jail cell.

The Linn County sheriff’s office is conducting an investigation into the death Tuesday of 34-year-old Nicholas Alan Stephens of Dallas, Oregon. A statement Wednesday said he was alone in his cell when he was found.
