MILFORD, Mass. (AP) - Police say a Connecticut man was struck and killed by passing tractor-trailer after he got out of a car that had stopped in the left travel lane of Interstate 495 in Massachusetts.
Police say 28-year-old Benjamin Macaskill, of Bristol, Connecticut, was flown to a hospital where he was pronounced dead after he was struck just after midnight Wednesday on I-495 south in Milford.
Macaskill was a passenger in a car driven by 25-year-old Kimberly Prescott, also of Bristol, who is facing drunken driving charges.
State police did not say why the car stopped in a travel lane, but another passenger in the vehicle told WFXT-TV that Macaskill and Prescott had been arguing.
The tractor-trailer driver, a New Brunswick, Canada, resident, stopped and is not facing charges.
Prescott faces arraignment Wednesday.
