GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Deerfield man has been ordered to serve a year behind bars for causing a traffic crash in 2013 that took the life of an 83-year-old woman.
The Recorder of Greenfield (https://bit.ly/1F6Tdsr ) reports that Aaron Stark was sentenced Tuesday to 2 ½ years in jail, with one year to serve and the remainder suspended for three years of probation.
Stark was convicted in February of vehicular homicide by negligent operation and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
Police say Stark’s vehicle collided head-on with a car driven by 83-year-old Celia Allen of Montague in November 2013. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Stark was 19 at the time.
