SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - An online fundraising campaign has been launched to cover the veterinarian bills for a dog that fell three stories from a window of its owner’s central New York home.
The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (https://bit.ly/1EDcNcB ) that Simba, a 3-year-old lab-shepherd mix, fell out of the bedroom window of Katie Bell’s home on Monday and severely injured his front paws.
A friend of Bell’s says the window was open a few inches and she believes Simba used his nose to open the window the rest of the way before falling out.
The 95-pound dog’s front paws have been placed in casts. Surgery to repair the damage is expected to cost $7,000. The friend says Bell works two jobs and can’t afford the vet’s bill.
As of Wednesday morning, more than $2,800 has been raised on the GoFundMe website.
