NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Patricia Henry has stepped down from her position as deputy director of the French Market Corp.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1FdUaAE) Henry, who has been a longtime employee of the public agency and served as interim executive director in 2013, was placed on leave without pay Tuesday. Her resignation will be effective Friday.

The city declined to comment on Henry’s reason for leaving or provide an explanation as to why she was put on leave without pay.

The mayor’s office says Jon Smith, executive director of the French Market Corp., will assume Henry’s duties while the city conducts a search for a replacement.

The French Market Corp. is a public benefits corporation that returns a portion of its revenues each year to the city.
