GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A second high school is expected to open in Gillette in fall 2017.

The Gillette News Record reports (https://bit.ly/1REgo3T ) that Campbell County school trustees voted for the new school on Tuesday night.

Two trustees voted against the proposal. They cited the current downturn in the economy and the difficulty of students adjusting to several changes at once.

Before the final vote, each trustee except the chairwoman spoke about the issue in front of a crowd of about 20 people.

They discussed the new school for about 20 minutes before voting.
