DALLAS (AP) - A 15-year-old girl leaped from a Dallas freeway overpass to her death after an argument with her mother over a boyfriend.
Dallas police Sr. Cpl. DeMarquis Black said the incident happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday. He says police received a report of a pedestrian struck by several vehicles on Interstate 635 westbound near U.S. 75. None of the vehicles stopped.
Investigation determined that the girl may have jumped from a nearby overpass. Further investigation determined that the girl had left her home after her argument with her mother and gone to a friend’s apartment to talk. There, she revealed her plan to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge.
A witness at the freeway reported hearing the girl scream and land on the freeway, where she was hit several times.
