BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Charlie Baker is heading to Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

The Republican governor will meet with members of the state’s all-Democratic delegation at noon at the Capitol.

The delegation on Monday urged President Barack Obama to accept Baker’s request that the federal government extend its disaster aid coverage for a late January blizzard from 48 to 72 hours.

Baker will then meet with Deputy Secretary of Transportation Victor Mendez and Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell.

During his campaign last year, Baker said he’d seek a waiver from the federal Affordable Care Act, arguing that Massachusetts had a health care system that worked well and was popular.

More recently, Baker has asked the federal government to delay changes in the state’s small business health insurance market
