GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Grand Rapids is getting a little more welcoming to skateboarders.

WOOD-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1FdWE1S ) the Grand Rapids City Commission on Tuesday approved an ordinance to allow skateboarders to hit the streets in downtown.

The ordinance, which passed 7-0, includes skateboards, long boards, roller blades and roller skates in downtown traffic lanes.



There are some restrictions, with riders under the age of 15 allowed on sidewalks instead of streets. Reflective clothing must be worn from dusk until dawn.
