JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Hinds County Detention Center Administrator Diane Gatson-Riley has resigned.

County Board of Supervisors President Peggy Hopson Calhoun tells The Clarion-Ledger (https://on.thec-l.com/1PG9wiT) Gatson-Riley submitted a letter of resignation on Tuesday. Hopson says the reason for leaving was not stated in the letter.

Gatson-Riley was named jail administrator in 2013. She was on the original transition team that opened the Raymond facility in 1994. Since then, she has worked 16 years in corrections in Hinds, Harrison and Yazoo counties.
