CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two Clarksville attorneys have been found guilty of trying to extort $50,000 from a client.
The Leaf-Chronicle reports (https://leafne.ws/1FdHqtF ) the jury reached their guilty verdict for Carrie Gasaway and Fletcher Long Tuesday following a seven-day trial in Montgomery County Court.
Gasaway and Long were convicted of trying to extort the money from Michelle Langlois who had hired them to attend the reading of her father’s will in October 2010.
The crime is a felony with a sentencing range of two to 12 years with a maximum fine of $5,000.
