TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A leader of a drug ring has pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell heroin in Monmouth and Ocean counties and other parts of New Jersey.

Rufus Young faces up to 40 years in prison and a $5 million fine when he is sentenced in federal court in Trenton in August.

Federal prosecutors say the Asbury Park resident and another man headed a drug ring known as Britt-Young DTO. He was among 19 people arrested in March 2014 on drug charges. Fourteen have pleaded guilty.

Prosecutors say Young maintained several stash houses including a recording studio in Toms River and two apartments in Neptune.
