WARRENSBURG, Mo. (AP) - A man charged in the fatal shooting of an airman at a home near Whiteman Air Force Base also was assigned to the Missouri installation.

Whiteman said in a news release Tuesday night that Dominic Sacco is an airman first class. The 22-year-old Knob Noster man is jailed in Johnson County on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon in the death of John J. Bottom. No attorney who could comment is listed in online court records.

A probable cause statement says Sacco took out a handgun early Saturday while drinking alcohol and shot Bottom once in the head. Whiteman says that besides Sacco and the victim, two other people in the home at the time of the shooting also were assigned to the base.
