COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The man shot and wounded by a sheriff’s deputy at a Hobby Lobby has been identified as a 48-year-old Colorado Springs man.

Colorado Springs police identified Brian Lowe on Wednesday and said he is still receiving medical treatment following Friday’s shooting.

Police have previously said that Lowe was an escaped prisoner and was wielding a knife when he was shot by an El Paso County sheriff’s deputy.

The deputy is on routine administrative leave and police violent crimes unit detectives are investigating.

Witnesses said they heard two shots, and then a third after a pause. They said they ran out of the store when they realized it was gunfire.
