ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - A state Senate panel in New York is looking at ways to boost workforce development and expand access to job training.
The Senate’s Task Force on Workforce Development plans to hold a public hearing Wednesday in Albany.
Republican Sen. Jack Martins, a co-chairman of the panel, says better programs to expand training for high-demand jobs would help the economy overall.
The hearing will feature testimony from labor groups, business organizations and experts on workforce development on current trends in employment as well as the best ways to address the gap between a worker’s skills and today’s job demands.
